How to Start Selling Real Estate | Nevada Real Estate Licensing Process

Real Estate Agent

Have you always wanted to be a Real Estate Agent? Did you know obtaining a real estate license in Nevada is not difficult if you can fulfill the requirements? How you get a real estate license involves a minimum age requirement, high school diploma, at least 90 hours education from a accredited real estate school, applications, fees, fingerprinting, and passing the Nevada State and national real estate exams. To make it even easier your education can even be online instead of in a classroom. All of Nevada’s requirements can be found here on the Real Estate Divisions website.

In Nevada you must affiliate yourself with a brokerage after you pass the exam to obtain your license within a required amount of time and take a post-licensing course. You will also be required to take continuing education courses through out your real estate career to renew your license every 4 years. Agents are required to be members of the local real estate board in their area. In the Las Vegas area that would be the Greater Las Vegas Association of REALTORS®. There is a fee and required certification training to join the GLVAR board.

It is a good idea to know all the requirements prior to signing up for real estate school and taking the exam because once you pass the test a count down begins on certain deadlines. Keller Williams Southern Nevada(KWSN) has made the real estate license process even easier with a scholarship program. Keller Williams will pay for the candidates a on-line real estate pre-license course of KWSN’s choosing, KWSN will provide weekly tutoring, coaching, and highly specialized training courses. Candidates must meet with the Team Leader and sign the Scholarship and Affiliation Agreement prior to starting the pre-license course.
